Hole #1 (405/394/392/390/372) A very good starting hole. The tee shot should favor the left side as a fairway bunker and trees loom on the right half of the hole. The second shot plays half a club longer; however, you don’t want to be above the pin on this green. The greens slopes back to front and is usually one of the fastest on the course. -Jim Smith Jr.

This aerial photograph of the 1st Hole of the Wissahickon Golf Course, at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, is from an aerial photo shoot I completed, in the Summer of 2010, for a coffee table book of photographs comparing the design elements of the Club�s St. Martin�s, Wissahickon and Militia Hill golf course.
